Encounter Worship started life as online live worship sessions via Zoom shortly after lockdown occurred at the start of the Coronavirus pandemic in 2020. The sessions are hosted by Simon and Julie Sparkes from their home in Somerset, supported by others in the region.

Simon and Julie have been involved in leading together worship for about 35 years. They have been responsible for running worship teams in churches. Simon is a musician, worship leader and song writer and has written 20+ praise and worship songs. Julie is a singer and worship leader and has a heart for leading times of soaking in the presence of the Lord. Together they also run a house church from their home.

They decided to call these live worship sessions Encounter Worship as encountering the presence of Jesus is a central part of what they want to achieve. More…
